When using terminal blocks, it is not difficult to find that most of the terminals of terminal lines should be gold-plated on the surface, mainly from the following five aspects:
1、 Protect the base material of terminal spring from corrosion; most terminal wire terminal spring is made of copper alloy, which is usually corroded in the use environment, such as oxidation, vulcanization, etc. Terminal plating is to make the reed isolated from the environment to prevent corrosion. Electroplated materials, of course, are corrosion resistant, at least in the application environment.
2、 Optimize the performance of terminal surface, establish and maintain the contact interface between terminals, especially film control. In other words, it makes metal to metal contact easier.
3、 For the metal with poor adhesion, it is usually necessary to lay a copper bottom before electroplating to enhance the adhesion.
4、 The conductivity of raw materials such as iron and phosphorus copper is usually less than 20%. For connectors with low impedance requirements, the impedance can be reduced after plating high conductivity metals such as gold on the surface.
5、 To improve the solderability of terminals (such as tin, gold, etc.), the adhesion of materials to tin is poor, and the solderability of parts can be improved by electroplating a certain thickness of gold and other substances on the surface.
The daily maintenance of the terminal is also very important. The operator must clean the machine every day to remove the dust, debris and excess oil on the surface of the machine. The stamping guide rail of the terminal machine must be lubricated with oil once an hour. The oil filling hole should be placed on the top of the terminal. It is advisable to add 2-3 drops of oil each time, and not too much.
